HEY, thanks for subscribing to glo-op! 💸

It’s going to be a ride. A non-AI, human authored, likely Monday deployment, newsletter ride.

Forgive the grammar infractions, the possible typos, and non financial advice (had to fit in a disclaimer somewhere) you’re about to participate in. With some growth mindset and marketing peppered in.

If you’re on this list you probably know me somewhat personally. You may know I had a fashion blog and wrote for a few publications. You might also have known I wanted to be a journalist my entire life…until I figured out the salary was too rough for me to personally thrive on.

My first foray into a personal finance obsession was when I landed a job as a bank teller downtown Toronto. I was 20, leaving my retail job at Aritzia, and ill prepared for all of the borderline customer service abuse I was about to receive in at least two languages (a brief stint at the Chinatown location).

I remember witnessing all walks of life - millionaires, franchise owners, New York fashion photographers, students, and many under privileged. There were so many astounding financial profiles. All I was convinced of was that a) I wanted enough to be comfortable b) I wanted to be generous eventually and c) Affording facials and Mackage jackets sounded cool.

Since then I’ve worked corporate at retail banks, started multiple businesses (some with exits some just floundering endings), and now run a thankfully flourishing growth marketing consultancy, ROGUE STORIES.

So you’ve read this far. What’s in it for you?

  • I hope to make you a bunch of money and give you great ideas for your life, just for sharing your email and hitting subscribe

  • I’m going to literally giveaway 💸 and product using this platform

  • I’m sending out a number of special CN tower toonies since it’s the 50th anniversary

A draw for CN Tower Coins will be made 07/07/2026.

A few favourite financial books:

If you haven’t had a chance to listen to / read these books, two I enjoyed consuming in the last few years are the Psychology of Money (a bit more emotion and mindset forward) and The Simple Path to Wealth (more practical + also encouraging steps that remove the anxiety of future planning, even if it’s US-based).

We’re going to keep it lighter for the inaugural newsletter - until next week,
Glo 💚
